It is in our small groups, or ‘Homegroups’ that many of the St. Augustine’s members are growing in their experience of what it is to be the Church.
In these small groups of about 8 to 12 people there is opportunity to get to know a few other Christians deeply, to care for each other, to learn more about our faith, to pray together, and to develop and use our God-given gifts of ministry. There are several Homegroups, meeting weekly or fortnightly, some in evenings, some in daytime.
The purpose of Home Groups in a Church is for people to build relationships, care for each other, and to grow and mature in their faith.
It is great to see a good number of groups meeting at different times and having a different focus. As part of the ongoing development and growth of the Home group ministry we have now put in place an oversight team to manage this.
The overall coordinator is Reverend Kevin Tapper (ph: 3326627).
Kevin will provide Coordination and Oversight to the Home Group Team. The Oversight team consists of Alan Pattrick (ph: 332-8808) Susan Johnson (3396360) Jo Pattrick (3328808) and Richard Howe (9814042). These people will be responsible for the Promotion of the Home Group ministry and providing leader support for Home groups under their care. Sue Studholme (ph: 337-3025) is also a member of the Oversight team and her role is promotion of the Home group ministry, with a particular responsibility for the resources that will be available to Home Groups.
Please feel free to contact any of the above or the Coordinator Kevin Tapper

Prayer is vital to the Church’s life and ministry. Prayer plays a key part in our services and homegroups. We run a prayer chain which is available to take prayer requests and concerns. Also, Prayer Ministry for personal needs is available at most services. Do look at the 'prayer testimony' on the Testiomnies page showing real, current answers to prayer. |

Alpha is a 10 week programme exploring questions of faith and life, in a relaxed, informal & unpressured way.
Alpha is excellent for those who want to think about and make up their own mind about Christianity. We run the Alpha programme two or three times during the year.
