This May we at St Augustine's Church had a great time celebrating our Centenary! A huge THANK YOU to the Centenary Committee (Claire Bickers, Shirley Wills, Tim Koller, Sandra Blackie, Sandra Hector, Kevin Tapper, Joan Earl and Brian Earl) who worked so creatively and diligently over recent months, and to all the many other people who contributed in all sorts of ways to make each of the events so special. It is wonderful to begin our second century with the gifted and dedicated team of people that this parish family is. We go into our second 100 years of existence not only with a strong fellowship as a church family, but also with a clear vision to be used by the Lord to take his Gospel to others and to live out that Gospel in our own lives. Post-ball news: As I continue to receive glowing expressions of thanks for a very successful event I am most appreciative of the many people who assisted with the celebration. A big thank you to the poster girls for the art work , the centennial cake decorator and the ticket sales team . Alexa for baking the two cakes and also for heading the very capable food delivery ladies Marjory, Joyce, and Margaret. The set-up group of my family ably assisted by Roy and Chris , Maxine for the fun and games , and Master of Ceremonies Chris for his 'working of the room' for both the formal and the frivolous activities. Finally two ingredients in the mix , the very talented group Barock who played the music that the crowd appreciated , and the Cashmere Club who provided the area free of charge. Shirley Wills
